Four checks before buying an inverter
- Battery voltage: a 12 V inverter cannot be substituted into a 24 V or 48 V bank.
- AC output: this shortlist covers 120 V / 60 Hz models. Check your appliances and country.
- Continuous load and startup: compare running watts, motor starting demand and the manufacturer's surge duration. The calculator does not model motor startup.
- The DC side: verify battery/BMS discharge capacity, cable size, protection and installation requirements. Higher AC output also means higher battery current.
These are standalone inverters, not grid-export equipment or complete solar kits.
How this shortlist is maintained
We compare published specifications and explain use cases and limitations. We have not bench-tested these products. Affiliate commission is not a product score, and we do not claim these are Amazon bestsellers.
Each card links to its specification source and records the actual review date. Our review interval is 30 days; an overdue card is marked “Review due” rather than receiving an automatic new date. Prices and stock are not copied here.
Amazon search links help you locate the exact model. We have not verified a current individual listing for each option. Check the selected variant, seller, warranty and returns before purchasing.
For panels, verify mounting dimensions, cold-weather open-circuit voltage, operating voltage/current and your controller's limits. This page does not certify a combination as compatible.
